Winter is here again in Niagara Falls and with it come many events celebrating the holiday season.
Winter festival of Lights 2019 is currently underway, transforming the tourist district of Niagara Falls Canada into a wonderland at night.
Winter Festival of Lights was started in 1982 with the aim of developing and promoting tourism in Niagara Falls Canada during the winter months.
Winter Festival of Lights 2019 Dates
The 2019 Winter Festival of Lights started on November 16, 2019 and will continue till January 12, 2020. Ontario Power Generation is the main sponsor of the event.
Throughout this time, lighting installations will be put up all along Niagara Parkway and at other Niagara Parks attractions. The festival is one of the main tourist attractions in winter.

Thursdays to Sundays, visitors can see the Fallsview Light and Sound Show at Oakes Hotel located on Fallsview Boulevard.
Tour Niagara Falls During The Winter Festival of Lights 2019
Bring along your family to Niagara Falls Canada this winter to enjoy the Winter Festival of Lights.
You can tour Niagara Falls during the day and then head out in the evening to see the lighting displays that are put up all over the tourist-frequented areas.
You can start off by driving along Niagara Parkway to see stunning displays. Niagara Falls gets transformed into a fairytale land with lighting displays of rainbows, animals, illuminated trees, and other formations.
There is no fee to view the displays; however, donations can be made at Dufferin Islands which go towards maintaining and improving the lighting displays.
Timings are from 5:00 p.m. to midnight.
Many events are organized during the Winter Festival of Lights. These include special fireworks shows over Niagara Falls, New Year’s Eve Concert, ice skating events and more.
