The Maid of the Mist is the name of a popular boat ride in Niagara Falls, USA. It takes its passengers on a short voyage to the Niagara Falls.

The Maid of the Mist made its maiden voyage in 1846 and was initially used as a ferry service for crossings on the Niagara River below the Falls between Canada and USA.

With the construction of a bridge over the Niagara River in 1848, Maid of the Mist was converted into a tourist ride that would take visitors upstream on the Niagara River for amazing views of all the 3 waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls. To this day, this tourist attraction has survived and still takes thousands of visitors every day up to the Horseshoe Falls and back to the base of Prospect Point Tower.
