Marineland opened in 1961 and was previously known as Marine Wonderland and Animal Farm.
When it first opened the park originally had only 3 sea lions but has since expanded to house beluga whales, walruses, killer whales, dolphins, deer, black bear and more.

If you have planned a visit to Niagara Falls from Toronto, it would be unfair to not pay a visit to the Marineland of Canada. Marineland is located on Portage Road in Niagara Falls.
Marineland is a theme park and zoo for both marine and land animals. Many of the marine animals have been trained to perform tricks that amuse and delight children and adults.
Probably the most popular Marineland attraction is Friendship and Arctic Cove. At Friendship Cove you will see Killer Whales. Arctic Cove allows park goers to view, touch and even feed the Beluga whales.
Apart from the Marine entertainment the park also includes the world’s largest rollercoaster made from steel known as Dragon Mountain and also one of the tallest tower rides, the Sky Screamer.
The Sky Screamer ride has large towers, with one lift per tower. The rider sits on one of the lifts and pulls on the over-the-shoulder harness.
Once safety checks are performed the rider begins to slowly ascend up the 300 foot tower.
Then, like a bullet, the rider rockets to the top of the ride pauses for a moment so that the wonderful view of Niagara Falls can be witnessed and then the Sky Screamer drops again as fast as it rises.
Marineland’s on-site, cafeteria style restaurant serves up fast foods such as rotisserie chicken, pizza, hamburgers, salads etc. There are also food kiosks throughout the park serving foods.
