Niagara Falls is a once in a lifetime trip. It is a natural wonder…you are going to want to remember it! What better way to remember than by taking vivid memorable pictures? Not all pictures are created equal. We’ve provided some tips to spice up your photos and help you create fun lasting memories of your Niagara excursion:
Cleaner Lens, Better Pictures!
Water cascading over the Niagara Falls creates a mist (and an opportunity for beautiful rainbow pictures!). However, that mist will blur your pictures, so whether you are taking pictures using your smartphone or DSLR camera, make sure your lens is clean before snapping your photos.
Avoid Using Flash
This tour is primarily outdoors and there is enough natural light that you will not need to use flash. Flash lowers the quality of pictures.
Take Pictures From Different Angles
Niagara Falls is a MASSIVE natural wonder! Try taking some pictures by squatting down and shooting up at the Falls (be careful not to hurt yourself), this will add some interesting perspective to your pictures.
Keep The Camera As Still As Possible
Hold your smartphone with both hands when taking a picture and if you can lean the phone against a sturdy surface, use the self-timer to ensure sharp, beautiful images.
Try And Laugh, Instead Of Just Smiling
Laughter uses more muscles in the face and these pictures turn out to be more authentic than a regular smile (in my opinion).
Take Action Shots!
Traditional family pictures are great, but add some action shots in as well. Perhaps capturing your significant sniffing or tasting one of the regions fine wines or your son or daughter in an action shot jumping as high as they can with the Falls in the background. When you look back at these types of photos you will smile.
Capture The Moments
There are many perfect picture moments when you tour Niagara, that is the beauty of the smartphone! Be ready to capture any candid shots that you may notice, these are always the best pictures to view when you look back and remember your trip to Niagara Falls.
