For over 200 hundred years, tourists have been visiting Niagara Falls and have been fascinated by the Old Scow. The Old Scow is a steel barge that had to be abandoned as an emergency by Gustav Lufberg and James Harns after the rope towing the barge broke loose. Visitors to Niagara Falls have the opportunity to see The Old Scow from both the United States and Canadian sides of the Falls.
The Old Scow is marooned in the upper rapids and sits just above the Falls. It is opposite to the Floral Show House. This amazing attraction brings thousands of visitors each year to see its wonder along with the Fall. It is known to be not only one of the main attractions of the Falls but also one of the biggest tourist spots in North America.
Even almost a hundred years after it was lodged, the Old Scow still brings a sense of mystery and wonder to all who visit to see it. It is also a gentle reminder to what could have been a very awful tragedy for two very brave men. Make sure that you put it on your must-see list of attractions when you visit Niagara Falls.
