Niagara Craft Breweries Tour

Niagara Craft Breweries Tour

Niagara is not only well known for its wineries, but also its craft breweries.  Craft beer is a beer that has been made in a traditional, non-mechanized way by a small independently owned brewery.  Niagara-on-the-Lake offers an excellent variety of micro-craft breweries.

Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada
Duration: 5 hours 30 minutes (approx.)

If you love beer, then there is no better way to spend your day than visiting Niagara’s finest craft breweries and sampling some of their brews.  This tour will stop at 5 Niagara breweries, and will include a comprehensive tour at one brewery.  Tastings at each stop are included!

Main Features

  • Visit 5 breweries.
  • Free tasting at each brewery.
  • An expert guide/driver.
  • Hotel pickup and dropoff.
  • Drive around scenic Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Your tour will begin with transportation from your hotel in Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Your first stop will be at the Niagara College Teaching Brewery.  This educational facility is famous locally for its quality craft beer.  Here, a behind-the-scenes tour will show you the brewing process from start to finish followed by a tasting.

Next up will be a visit to the Silversmith Brewing Company for a tasting in their unique, restored old church building.  Their flagship beer is The Black Lager.  If the brew does not impress you, the old architecture will!

Just up the road, the tour guide will stop at Oast House Brewers.  Their Barn Raiser Country Ale is a favourite.  Depending on availability, you will be given the opportunity to purchase lunch at either Silversmith or Oast House.

Ironwood Cidery is next on the route.  Here, you can sample some cider made from Ontario apples and learn about this Niagara-on-the-Lake gem.

Lastly, you will be driven to The Exchange Brewery located in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Old Town Heritage District.  Their selection includes a range of American styles along with sour and funky Belgian-style beers and ales.

Tastings are included at each brewery.  If you like what you taste, you can buy some to take home with you!

This unique Niagara tour is available 7 days a week, and is a great way to explore not only the breweries of Niagara but also scenic Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Tours begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. and finish at 5:00 p.m.
