History of Maid of the Mist
Before the construction of the first bridge below the Falls, rowboats ferried passengers from the US side of the Niagara River to the Canadian side. In 1846, steamboats started transporting people, cargo, luggage and mail.
Business was affected by the construction of a suspension bridge on Niagara River. The Maid of the Mist was converted into a sightseeing trip to see the Falls that operates to this day.

Tickets purchased online are valid for 1 ride anytime during the season.
Group ticket purchases are not available online. One person must pay for the whole group of 20 or more and the entire group must be present at that time. Check here for group rates.

Maid of the Mist Boat Ride
The boat tour starts from the base of Niagara Gorge on the US side. The elevators at Prospect Point Tower in Niagara Falls State Park will take you to the base of the gorge where the boat docks are located.
Blue rain ponchos will be given to all passengers boarding the Maid of the Mist. Enjoy the view of the Niagara Gorge and the Falls as the boat passes close to the American and Bridal Veil Falls and then to the base of the massive Horseshoe Falls.
The boat ride takes about 20 minutes. All boats are wheelchair accessible.
