Konzelmann is Niagara’s only lakefront winery, located on the shores of Lake Ontario. The Winery began in the small German town of Uhlbach, near the turn of the 19th century. A restaurateur named Friederich Konzelmann left the culinary trade to pursue the craft of winemaking.

Niagara College formed the Winery and Viticulture Tech Program in 2000.    The College has approximately 38 acres of vineyards where students receive hands-on experience producing award-winning wines.   The Niagara College Teaching Winery is the centre for wine education in the Niagara Peninsula and is the only fully licensed Teaching Winery in Canada.   Guided tours of the facility are offered throughout the year (no booking required).

Southbrook has had roots in the Niagara region for three generations.  The family (Redelmeier) farm transformed into a Winery in 1991, having sourced some of the Niagara regions finest grape varietals and grown them organically.  The 63 acre vineyard is compliant with the Canada Organic Regime (COR) and is a LEED-certified winery (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).  Meaning that the vineyard uses no synthetic pesticides, bioengineering or genetic modifications and uses less water and less energy.
Southbrook’s hospitality pavilion became Canada’s first winery building to achieve the Gold level of LEED, which is a nod to the future aspirations of this innovative winery.  Tours of the Southbrook Vineyards are offered daily and must be booked in advance.

The Strewn Winery has been producing fine wine in the Niagara region for over 20 years.  The 10 acre facility was actually a fruit canning operation until transitioning into a Winery in the late 1990’s.  Strewn Winery consists of a spacious tasting room, wine boutique and barrel cellar with a variety of tasting options.  A variety of tastings are available daily from 10:00AM to 6:00PM (final tastings begin at 5:30PM).

Strewn Winery has a wonderful on-site 65 seat restaurant known as OLiV.  The restaurant serves lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.   OLiV is open in the Summertime from Monday to Saturday 11:30AM to final seating at 8:00PM and Sunday at 11AM to final seating at 8:00PM.

On Saturdays from 10:00AM to 3:00PM Strewn Winery hosts hands-on cooking classes from January to November (only 16 participants/session), this is a great team building activities for corporate outings.

Small Talk Vineyards had humble origins as a fruit and poultry farm.  The Hunse Family purchased the farm and planted vineyards in 1985 and released its first vintage in 1990 under the name Stonechurch.  Fast forward a decade and the vineyard was renamed Small Talk Vineyards.  The property is now 78 acres and grows 11 varieties of grapes.
Their wine tasting room is open year round (May to October 14th 10:00AM to 6:00PM and October 15th to April 10:00AM – 5:00PM).  A quaint and fun wagon tour is available where you are taken around the 78-acre vineyard, learning about the Niagara region and grape growing.

Tour:  You can tour the winery with a guide and get a first -hand look at how grape juice is transformed into Award winning wines.  You can also skip the tour and get right to the tastings with their “Shut Up and Pour” tour option.  You can pick three wines, learn about them and of course, taste them!  Guided tours must be booked in advance, however for the “Shut Up and Pour” tasting no reservation is required.
