Meet the tour guide in Wainfleet, Ontario, located 45 minutes southwest of Niagara Falls. After going through the safety and riding instructions, hop onto a horse and hit the back country trails.
Ride further along the trails to reach the Wainfleet Wetlands Conservation Area. The tranquility, unique rock formations and abundance of wildlife will leave you mesmerized. This protected wetland area was a former clay and limestone quarry. It is now home to large quarry ponds, coral fossils, woodlots, and meadows full of wildlife. The wetlands attract a large variety of bird species like herons, sandpipers, egrets and gulls. Watch out for deer emerging from the woods and grazing in the fields. Bring along a camera to capture all the wildlife and beautiful ponds and rock formations.
Follow the guide as he leads the way along the beach of Lake Erie. You can take your horse for a short trot in the shallow waters alongside the beach.
