Niagara Falls offers a lot of touristy places; and a lot of touristy things to do. Often the restaurant and the places to eat get too crowded and too touristy. Of course, they are famous for a reason- they offer great food at great prices. And they are definitely worth checking out. But, there are many off beat and unique and small privately-owned places too- that offer a lovely and quaint dining experience; and are somewhat off the grid.
We have done the research and digging for you and created a list that is a good mix of the popular favourites, as well as those that would offer you something unique, and something of their own. Whether you are just a tourist to Niagara Falls who would appreciate a good, scrumptious meal; or you are like one of those food travellers- where food is as important to you as other specifics of that location- this list willdefinitely have something to offer you.

- Mama Mia’s Italian Eatery: If you love Italian food…. and we sure hope you do… it doesn’t get more delicious that this eatery. Their uniqueness comes from the feeling of eating inside someone’s home; a very cozy and (for the lack of better word) homely feeling; and ambience to match that. Cooking aromas wafting through the kitchen, is how they welcome their guests in! And the food is delicious! Made fresh and using in house original recipes, the people of Mama Mia take pride in food and their generous portion sizes! It is total must visit on Italian food lover’s visit to Niagara Falls. Located at the top of Clifton Hills, its not too far from the Falls and we at ToNiagara recommend that you check it out on your next Niagara Falls tour!
- Queen Victoria Place Restaurant: We must say, this very royal sounding name for a restaurant, matches the royalty with its impressive façade. It is in a beautiful park setting which makes for a very relaxing spot to enjoy your food. You can eat out on the patio too, while enjoying a panoramic view of the Falls! Or sit on their terrace and enjoy the fireworks and free concerts, with your delicious meal. Speaking of food- it has both the elements required to make it into ToNiagara’ s recommended list – reasonable prices and amazing taste!
- Passage to India: Who doesn’t love Indian food! The textures, the aromas, the spices! All with a unique blend of ingredients…yummm!! We at ToNiagara know that Indian Food cuisine is extremely popular; and after eating Indian cuisine at countless Indian restaurants, we know that finding a place that offers authentic Indian food can be somewhat tricky! And this restaurant’s food is the only reason, why it has made it to our list…(as it should be)! There are other fine dining and fancy and expensive Indian places too, at Niagara Falls. And while this one is not particularly posh or fancy; it has our vote for its delicious food!
- Pho Xyclo: This is another one of those places that don’t look like much from the outside. And yet they make it to ToNiagara’s list of recommendations so you ought to know that their food is unbeatable! Authentic Vietnamese and East Asian cuisine served in a simple, friendly setting. Order a Thai soup for a spicy kick- if that is what you are into; or select from an array of milder but equally delicious dishes on their menu! If you find yourself craving a delicious bowl of Noodle Soup, while roaming Niagara Falls; this is where you want to be.
- Paris Crepes Café: From authentic Indian, Italian, Vietnamese cuisine recommendations on our list so far- we bring you something French!
With an authentic French menu- this place offers a variety of breakfast and brunch foods, all made with unique ingredients! They offer a nice, very French homely atmosphere- and did we mention their selection of Niagara VQA Wines!? ToNiagara gives this delicious place, a two thumbsup!
- Weinkeller: If that restaurant’s name sounds German to you; that because it is! Weinkeller, is the German word for wine cellar! And all you wine enthusiast will be happy to know that this restaurant makes a few of wines on its menu, right there in the restaurant! They will have some great recommendations for your wine order based on the meal you order off their menu. Housed inside a red- brick building with an interior that does not disappoint this restaurant is worth visiting!
- The Watermark Fallsview Dining: This is one the most popular restaurant at the Hilton Hotels and Suites at Niagara Falls. You get a panoramic view of the American and Horseshoe Falls. ToNiagara recommends this for everything the place has to offer- the view,elegant ambience, their carefully crafted seasonal menus and the unique and fun events they keep hosting; all centred around the food theme! Check them out, if fine dining mixed with fun is your thing. You won’t be disappointed!
- Betty’s Restaurant: This restaurant has been around for 45 years! That itself should tell you how popular it is and how well loved amongst tourists to Niagara Falls! Their dining rooms are brightly decorated, spacious and you will feel instantly energized by the thoughtful elements of their lively interior décor. It is a family and kid friendly place and they pride themselves on having something for everyone, on their menu! On your next trip to Niagara Falls, we recommend that you check out this unique gem of an eating place!
- Taps On Queen Brewhouse and Grill: If you enjoy custom in-house crafted beers, this is your kind of place! The pride of this place is their beers made from a few simple ingredients, which give it its unique, refreshing and satisfying taste. The layout of the restaurant is very sports- bar like. Which makes it apt for casual and relaxed eating while watching TV or sometimes even a live music show! Their food too goes right hand in hand with the beer and sports watching ,with an array of offerings like sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and other pub favourites! You simply cannot go wrong, with this choice.
- Queen Charlotte Tea Room and Restaurant: Looking to experience something unique yet authentic and let’s say…something very British? Then this one goes right on the top of our list for our Brit picks! With a charming interior, designed to look like an actual British tearoom, this place has a carefully designed menu- reminiscent of British tearoom food items! Fish and chips, steak, kidney pies…or a delicious Yorkshire pudding. And there’s a huge selection of gourmet teas too! For a unique culinary experience, this is where you should be headed on your next trip to Niagara Falls!
