The Niagara City Cruises offers an iconic boat ride in Niagara Falls, Canada. Formerly called Maid of the Mist (a similar boat ride on the American side is still called Maid of the Mist), this boat ride is operated by Niagara City Cruises.
There are two types of boat rides operated by Niagara City Cruises:
- Voyage to the Falls boat tour
- Falls Fireworks Cruise
The boat ride is open May-November. Dates may vary depending on weather conditions. The boat ride remains closed in winter.
Niagara City Cruises is located on Niagara Parkway at the bottom of Clifton Hill. Passengers take the funicular to descend into Niagara Gorge and reach the boat docks.
Ride frequency is every 15-30 minutes depending on time of day. The boats used are catamarans with a capacity of nearly 700 passengers.
Captained by experienced navigators, the boat travels upstream on the Niagara River towards the American and Bridal Veil Falls. It then heads into the basin of the Horseshoe Falls, where the mist from the waterfall is strong enough to drench passengers.
How long is the Niagara City Cruise?
The duration of the two boat rides by Niagara City Cruises is different.
Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour is a day tour and is 20 minutes long.
Falls Fireworks Cruise is a night tour and is operated only when there are fireworks scheduled by Niagara Parks. It is a 40-minute boat ride (9:30 p.m. – 10:10 p.m.).
You can check the Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour sailing schedule and book your boat ride.
