Niagara Falls is located between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, USA and Niagara Falls, Canada. The waterfall is visible from both sides of the border.
Visitors to one side of the waterfalls can cross to the other side to admire the Falls from that side. Rainbow Bridge across Niagara River is the closest crossing point between the two cities.
Rainbow Bridge allows pedestrian traffic too, so you can walk to the opposite side, tour the whole day and return back in the evening.
As you will be crossing an international border, you will require a passport or visa or other accepted travel documents.
Niagara Falls is made up of 3 waterfalls – American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls (the former two are on the US side).
You are on the same side as the Falls on the US side, so you get a side view. The frontal view on the Canadian side is liked more by most visitors.
Niagara Falls, Canada has many attractions like parks, casinos, nature reserves, etc. You can see some of the sights and cross back into USA the same day or you could stay a few days in Niagara Falls, Canada.
After crossing into Niagara Falls, Canada, the first thing you can do is take a stroll along Niagara Parkway to enjoy the view of Niagara Falls. You can then go to Table Rock Centre to stand near the cliff edge of Horseshoe Falls and see the upper Niagara River tumble over into the gorge below.
You can also do Journey behind the Falls, an attraction at Table Rock Centre that takes you through tunnels to the base of the Horseshoe Falls.
There is a boat ride similar to the Maid of the Mist on the US side called the Hornblower Niagara Cruise. You can skip it if you have already done Maid of the Mist.
Some of the other places you could visit are Queen Victoria Park, Botanical Gardens, Dufferin Islands, Floral Showhouse, Skylon Tower and Clifton Hill.
