Niagara Falls during the day is magnificent, but it keeps surprising you after dark. At night the Falls glow with colourful lights, and on fireworks nights the sky above them lights up too. This guide covers the 2026 summer fireworks, the winter schedule for 2026-27, the best places to watch from, and how to plan your evening. Last updated: October 2026.

Everyone wants the best spot to see the fireworks, and the “best” one depends on the experience you want.
The best places to watch the fireworks at Niagara Falls
Free and lively: Queen Victoria Park
Queen Victoria Park is the classic fireworks spot. It sits in the heart of the tourist area, with views of both the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, and large lawns where crowds gather for the music and to enjoy the evening. It is ideal for photos of the illuminated Falls with colourful fireworks behind them. The park is very popular, so arrive early to secure a good spot.

Rainbow Bridge
From the Rainbow Bridge you get a direct view of both the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, with nothing in the way. It is often a little less crowded than Queen Victoria Park, and you can say you watched the fireworks over Niagara Falls from Canada and the United States at the same time. Crossing on foot involves a small toll, and you need valid travel documents to enter the US. Check niagarafallsbridges.com for current pedestrian access and fees.

From above: Skylon Tower
The Skylon Tower’s observation deck stands 775 feet (about 236 metres) above the base of the gorge, so you look down on the Falls and the fireworks from a warm, enclosed viewing level. A “Ride to the Top” ticket is $18 for adults; the Revolving Dining Room lets you watch the show over dinner (reservations include observation deck access). Prices are subject to change; see Skylon Tower tickets.

A room with a view: Fallsview hotels and restaurants
Many Fallsview hotels have floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies facing the Falls, and several restaurants have clear views at show time. In summer the show starts at 10:00 PM; in winter it is earlier, at 8:00 PM. Book a window table or a Fallsview room well ahead, especially for weekends and holidays. The new Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, which opened in April 2026, is one more option.

Niagara SkyWheel
The 175-foot SkyWheel on Clifton Hill has heated, enclosed gondolas and is open all year, so you can watch the lights and fireworks from a warm private cabin in any season. Time your ride for show time. Recent opening hours were Sunday to Thursday 10 AM to midnight and Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 2 AM, but they are subject to change. See the Clifton Hill SkyWheel page.

On the water: Falls Fireworks Cruise
The Falls Fireworks Cruise by Niagara City Cruises is an evening cruise of roughly 40 minutes that sails to the base of the Horseshoe Falls as the fireworks begin, with the explosions overhead and their reflections on the water. In 2026 it was listed from about $47.95 plus taxes and fees, with a poncho included, and departed in the evening at about 9:30 PM. Check the Niagara City Cruises site for current dates, times and prices, and book ahead, because the show lasts only a few minutes and spaces sell out.

Right beside the Falls: Journey Behind the Falls at night
Journey Behind the Falls runs year-round, and “Journey at Night” lets you see the illuminated Falls from the observation decks, with the 10 PM fireworks in season. You descend 125 feet (about 38 metres) by elevator to decks beside the water, where the mist reaches your face. Adult admission is $33 and children (3-12) are $21.50. Niagara Parks is redeveloping the attraction in phases, so check the Journey Behind the Falls page for current access.

Tips for fireworks night
- Arrive early. The best free spots fill up well before show time, especially on weekends, Canada Day and New Year’s Eve.
- Dress for the weather. It is much cooler near the water at night, and in winter you will want warm layers, gloves and a hat.
- Check the weather. Shows can be affected by wind, rain and low cloud, so look at the official page on the day.
- Plan your trip home. Evening tours from the Greater Toronto Area return after 10 PM in summer.
