When people think of Niagara Falls, they think of rushing water and beautiful surroundings, but it is also a great destination for kids of all ages. Over the summer holidays many families will take the trip from Toronto to Niagara Falls, we’ve highlighted some of the most popular kid-friendly attractions.
Hornblower Boat Cruise (formerly Maid of the Mist)
Beside the Niagara Falls itself, the Hornblower Boat Cruise is probably the most popular attraction. The Hornblower Catamarans sail past the American and Bridal Veil Falls and right upto the base of the 170 foot high Horseshoe Falls. It is a thrilling adventures for both adults and children and a great photo opportunity. Rain ponchos are provided because the mist generated by millions of gallons of water falling 170 feet will result in a soaking fun time! For those that do not want to get wet there is an indoor section for the people who choose to remain dry.
Journey Behind The Falls
The Journey Behind The Falls takes you inside the Falls through tunnels that lead to upper and lower observation decks at the base of the Horseshoe Falls. Once again ponchos are doled out on the lower observation deck for the mist. The Journey Behind The Falls offers a unique view of the Falls and children enjoy travelling through the tunnels and looking at the sheer size of the Falls.
Helicopter Ride
Now it’s time for an aerial view! For those who are not scared of heights, you can board a helicopter and see Niagara Falls from high in the air! The helicopters can seat 7 passengers so there is plenty of room for the family on-board. This is another attraction where you can take some unique, vivid pictures with the family.
Clifton Hill
Besides the Niagara Falls there are also many other fun things for the family to see and do. Clifton Hill is known as “The World Famous Street of Fun” for a reason. Here is a list of some of the fun places to visit on Clifton Hill:
