Private Afternoon Wine and Cheese Tour Niagara On The Lake

You will discover how they manufacture their award-winning wines, like Riesling and our Lemberger Reserve, with the help of your very own tasting guide, a winemaker if one is available. Per individual, there are five wines in the tasting.

Take a stroll through Niagara on the Lake's Olde Towne neighbourhood. Window shop or stop by one of the many shops, bars, or cafes in this charming little town. Perhaps you'd prefer to stroll down to Lake Ontario and enjoy the gazebo's breath-taking views. On the other side of the lake, try to locate Toronto's CN Tower. The Shaw Cafe, Cork's Pub, or the Angel Inn ”rumored to be haunted ”all serve lunch.

ONLY 3 OF THE WINERIES LISTED WILL BE VISITED (based on availability) Enjoy a sampling session that lasts 45 minutes. Choose four premium table wines from their VQA collection, or two premium table wines and one Icewine. Add cheese and/or charcuterie to go with your sampling if you'd like a snack.

The 20-acre estate winery has won awards for its premium award-winning VQA red and white wines both domestically and overseas. Being actively involved in the wine industry since the late 1970s and founded Joseph's Estate Wines in 1992, Dr Joseph Pohorly is a legend in the field.The winemaking team has consistently produced fruit-forward, palate-pleasing wines while adhering to Dr. Joseph's aesthetic for more than 20 years.

ONLY 3 OF THE WINERIES LISTED WILL BE VISITED (based on availability) In the 19th century, Frederick Konzelmann founded the winery in the small German town of Uhlbach after quitting his job as a chef to focus on winemaking. The Konzelmann family moved to Canada in 1984, and as they say, the rest is history.

ONLY 3 OF THE WINERIES LISTED WILL BE VISITED (based on availability) One of the original family vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake, established in 1982 by Ewald Reif and later purchased by his nephew Klaus W. Reif. Reif now makes wines from a vineyard that was first planted in 1977. One of the most cutting-edge, instructive tasting room experiences can be found at the winery.

In 2002, Caroline Cellars was established by the Lakeit family, who had been involved in farming for the previous 50 years. The award-winning portfolio, which focuses on producing wines that are light and approachable, consists of both red and white varietals, a small variety of fruit wines, and the much praised and recognised Icewine. The Farmhouse Café serves lunch every day of the year and specialises in casual Wine Country food.

In this 45-minute tour, we'll take you right up close to our organic vineyard, walk you through the wine-making process, and tell you everything about the history of this special place.

For a romantic vacation or a day out with friends and family, our exquisite tasting room, courtyard made of recycled bricks, and garden-side patio offer the ideal setting. A guided wine tasting with a member of The Hare's knowledgeable staff is the finest way to enjoy the collection of premium wines we have to offer.

We will take you back in time to a time when donkeys were the farmers' best assets during this special one-hour adventure! After understanding what makes these lovely animals so priceless, you and your amiable donkey tour guides will go on a guided excursion around the immaculate Colaneri Vineyard. Your tour will be accompanied by our highly experienced personnel, who will provide background information on the location and the wine-making process. There will be times along the route where you can guide, approach, and photograph the donkeys. At the end of your excursion, you'll have a sampling of three of our exceptional wines while relaxing at a picnic table next to the vineyard.
