.
Everyone will receive instruction from your guide on the canoeing skills and manoeuvres required. You will enter Pen Lake, one of the interior lakes of Algonquin Park, with your "Expedition weight" kevlar boats. With the assistance of your knowledgeable guide, you can set up camp and then go exploring on the lake we are now on. It's pretty intriguing to see the enormous rapids that were originally used as log chutes. Additionally, moose are frequently observed grazing by the lake's side in this region; over the course of two days, we counted six moose in this area! Fresh cuisine will be produced locally for dinner, which will be served next to a roaring campfire!
Today is an exploratory day. You could spend the time canoeing around the lake you're on and looking for moose, or you could make another portage and paddle your canoe up a meandering river. If you wish to try another lake, one alternative is to canoe the South Madawaska River's calm waters after a brief portage. Another option, based on where you set up your base camp, would be to canoe halfway down the lake, make a few portages and then trek 1.7 kilometres to Welcome Lake.
After a leisurely breakfast, you break camp, pack the canoes, and begin the return trip. You'll pass through some Native American pictographs that date back hundreds of years as you travel.
